The UK Government‘s 10-Year Health Plan for England identifies a problem: patients do not consistently receive rapid and equitable treatment with cost-effective medicines.1 However, the proposed Single National Formulary (SNF) risks repeating past mistakes by attempting to solve the wrong problems and is already drawing concerns from local National Health Service (NHS) teams and industry alike.2
