A girl aged 5 years presented with a painful, swollen right elbow after falling from monkey bars and landing on her flexed elbow. On examination, her right elbow was swollen with tenderness over the anterolateral aspect. The forearm was not swollen, and the subcutaneous border of the ulna was easily palpable and non-tender. The distal neurovascular status was normal. Radiographs of her right forearm were obtained ( figure 1).
