A woman in her 30s presented with a five day history of a swollen, erythematous, and painful earlobe (fig 1, left). The symptoms developed immediately after a cosmetic earlobe augmentation procedure, in which 0.5 mL of hyaluronic acid filler was injected into each earlobe using a 27 gauge needle.
