PEARL QIP: Postnatal Early Antibiotic Review for Low-risk babies – transitioning babies home earlier from the postnatal ward using oral antibiotics

We developed a quality improvement project (QIP) switching neonates with culture-negative early onset sepsis (EOS) on the postnatal ward from intravenous to oral antibiotics, reducing length of stay (LOS). We report our findings and QI experience in accordance with SQUIRE (Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence) 2.0 reporting guidelines. 1
