The goal of my thesis was to improve understanding of outcomes and impairments in adults with hip dysplasia (HD), focusing on both patients undergoing periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) surgery and athletes (specifically, football players). This was achieved through three aims: (1) systematically reviewing studies investigating pre-PAO and post-PAO pain, function, quality of life and physical impairments in patients undergoing PAO; (2) exploring whether PAO bone healing can be enhanced using a bone graft and (3) examining factors associated with pain and sport in football players with HD.
