Lateral meningocele syndrome: characteristic imaging and clinical findings

Two adolescent girls presented at different times with a similar complaint of chronic back pain and gradually progressive lower limb weakness over the past 4–5 years. Both had an uneventful perinatal history, normal developmental milestones and an unremarkable family history. There were no associated bowel or bladder dysfunctions or other neurological symptoms.
