Over the past decade the landscape of stroke and neurointerventional research has undergone a tectonic shift. A field once dominated by North American and European consortia is now increasingly shaped by landmark randomized trials emerging from China (table 1). High-impact studies exemplified by pivotal randomized controlled trials (RCTs) addressing endovascular thrombectomy, intracranial atherosclerosis, and novel pharmacological strategies, frequently published in top-tier journals, have firmly established China as an important engine for neurointerventional investigation and innovation. This editorial examines the scope and quality of these contributions, contextualizes them within global efforts, and explores the structural, epidemiological, and institutional factors that have catalyzed this rise.
