This article by Swain et al asks what military clinicians actually think they are learning from the use of live tissue training (LTT), instead of whether they ‘like’ them.1 The themes that emerged—psychomotor learning, affective response, team dynamics, fidelity, and ethical justification—are usually overlooked. That said, the discussion misses an important consideration that must not be overlooked.
