Introduction The British Paediatric Sleep Society (BPSS), in collaboration with the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Paediatrics and Child Health (HRC-PCH), conducted a structured prioritisation workshop at the 2025 BPSS Research Fest. This aimed to identify the top ten research priorities in paediatric sleep, building on discussions initiated during the 2023 BPSS Research Fest.Methods A two-stage prioritisation process was employed. Initially, 58 research suggestions were received from 18 responses to a national priority gathering survey targeting healthcare professionals, academics, and families affected by paediatric sleep disorders. These were merged with research priorities identified in 2023 and were condensed to 36 unique priorities based on their meaning. The 36 priorities were taken to a second survey to shortlist a manageable number for the workshop, and the top 13 priorities were identified and deliberated on during an online workshop involving 15 participants and 3 facilitators. A consensus-driven ranking process across breakout rooms produced the final ranked top ten priorities.Results The identified top 10 research priorities (displayed in table 1) reflect urgent research needs across clinical, policy, and service-access domains. The top-ranked priority was the impact of poor sleep on children’s mental/physical health, education, and daily activites. Others included improving accessibility to sleep services, diagnostics for autism-related sleep disorders, and approaches to non-respiratory sleep problems in medically complex children. The list also covered innovations in monitoring technologies, understanding sleep variability, and policy influence.Discussion This collaborative priority-setting process underscores the pressing need for multidisciplinary and inclusive research agendas in paediatric sleep. The aim is for the final top ten research priorities to guide future funding applications and collaborative research efforts within the BPSS and the wider child health community, thus addressing some of the most urgent needs.Abstract P73 Table 1BPSS research fest priority setting workshop - top 10
