Introduction The Rapid Access Neurology Assessment (RANA) clinic, established at the Walton Centre in February 2021, aims to address the rising demand for neurological input by providing rapid outpatient reviews for patients with suspected neurological conditions, who present to Emergency departments throughout Merseyside. Thus, aiming to reduce pressures on emergency departments. This audit evaluates the clinic.Method RANA clinic audit data was collected from the RANA spreadsheet between January 2 nd 2024 and February 22nd2024. A total of 153 patients were referred to the RANA clinic in this time.Results 23.5% of referrals over this period were rejected, increased from 12% in the 2023 audit. The average time taken to be seen from referral date was 8 days, longer than in 2023. Number of referrals had increased from 1.73 per day (2023) to 2.94 (2024). 58% of these patients did not require any follow up after their initial appointment, 35% required only 1 follow up.Conclusion The RANA service is relatively new at The Walton Centre. There is scope to improve awareness of the referral process across and make the inclusion/exclusion criteria widely available. A traffic light triage system may help with reducing waiting times.hannah.fleet1@nhs.net
