The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) has released its 2025 update on colorectal cancer (CRC) surveillance in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the first comprehensive revision since 2010. In recent years, improved inflammation control, high-definition (HD) endoscopic imaging and advances in dysplasia management have reduced CRC incidence among people with IBD. Nonetheless, individuals with colonic IBD remain at elevated lifetime risk compared with the general population, making timely and effective surveillance a critical component of care. 1
