A recent study by Eghrari and colleagues evaluates the association between gabapentin prescription and risk of dementia in patients with chronic low back pain.1 The TriNetX platform is used to evaluate causal inferences in a propensity-matched cohort of 26 416 adults. There are concerns with the rigor of the methodology that may compromise the validity of the study’s conclusions.
