Retinoblastoma is the most common intraocular malignancy of childhood, and treated eyes may retain regressed lesions with variable appearance. Choroidal coloboma, a congenital excavation due to incomplete embryonic fissure closure, may clinically resemble a flat peripheral tumour scar. Differentiation may therefore be difficult in previously treated eyes.
