In this Analysis by Dixon and colleagues (BMJ 2025;390:e086867, doi:10.1136/BMJ-2025-086867, published 18 Sept 2025) the statement “A doctor who knowingly entered into a sexual relationship with a vulnerable patient whom he had pursued and groomed from the age of 14 was suspended for 12 months rather than erased” has been corrected to “a doctor knowingly entered into a sexual relationship with a 17 year old, with whom he exchanged messages from the time she was a 13 year old patient. He was suspended for 12 months rather than erased.”
