Did the assisted dying debate kill evidence-based discussion?

We start by declaring our conflicts of interest loud and clear. The authors of this paper have been actively involved in the assisted dying debate and have publicly documented our concerns about the Terminally Ill Adults: End of Life Bill currently progressing through the UK House of Lords. We write this commentary based on our recent experiences engaging with politicians, with the media and with medical organisations on the issue of assisted dying.
