Welcome to the July 2026 issue of Frontline Gastroenterology (FG). This issue’s publication release coincides with the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) Annual conference which is being hosted in my (adopted) home city of Liverpool, UK, between 22 and 25 June 2026 (figure 1). The conference itself is going to be jam-packed with 4 days of the most up-to-date clinical and academic gastrointestinal research and education from around the UK and internationally. It provides FG also with a perfect platform to demonstrate its front-line work to a captive audience. As part of that I make no apology in plugging the ‘GUT Portfolio’ symposium being hosted by the Editors in chief of GUT, FG, BMJ Open Gastroenterology and GUT Science and a number of associate and trainee editors on Wednesday, 24 June. At this symposium, collectively, the four journals part owned by the BSG and BMJ Group, will showcase the best of its contents as well as promote the best research internationally from the previous year—it is not to be missed!
