We read with great interest the multicentre randomised controlled trial by Shin et al, which demonstrated that the adjunctive use of Nexpowder after successful primary haemostasis significantly reduced rebleeding at 72 hours (2.9% vs 11.3%) and 30 days (7.0% vs 18.8%) without device-related adverse events.1 This study provides important evidence supporting prophylactic haemostatic powder therapy in high-risk non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (NVUGIB).
