Background The efficacy of an extrafine formulation single-inhaler triple therapy (SITT) consisting of beclometasone/formoterol/glycopyrronium (BDP/FF/G) in patients with asthma has been demonstrated in randomised controlled trials (RCTs), 1 yet there is limited evidence in real-world settings. TriMaximize is a real-world study of patients with moderate-to-severe asthma being treated with BDP/FF/G. Here we present the results from the UK cohort (NCT04902573).Methods TriMaximize is a prospective, non-interventional and multicentre study describing patient-characteristics and therapy pathways in adult patients with moderate-to-severe asthma, treated with BDP/FF/G.This twelve-month data set describes the treatment impact with BDP/FF/G on health-related Quality of Life (HRQoL) and asthma control, assessed by the Mini Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (Mini-AQLQ) and the Asthma Control Test (ACT), respectively. Results Of 166 patients enrolled across 20 UK centres, 147 are included (19 excluded as inclusion criteria not fulfilled or missing core baseline data) in the full analysis set. Patients are adults with a diagnosis of asthma, able to consent, with/without concomitant COPD. Before enrolment, 106 (72.1%) patients were treated with ICS/LABA and 41 (27.9%) with ICS/LABA/LAMA (fixed or free combinations).Treatment with BDP/FF/G for twelve months significantly improved HRQoL (p <0.001) and asthma control (p <0.001) (table 1), exceeding the minimal clinically important difference of 3 points for ACT and 0.5 points for Mini-AQLQ.Abstract P295 Table 1ACT and Mini-AQLQ scores at baseline and after twelve-months of treatment with SITT BDP/FF/G, in patients previously treated with ICS/LABA or ICS/LABA/LAMA (fixed or free combination). Changes from baseline were calculated using paired t-testsConclusion Significant improvements in HRQoL and asthma control were observed over a twelve-month period with SITT BDP/FF/G, proving to be a valuable treatment option for adult patients with moderate-to-severe asthma.Reference Virchow JC, et al.
