Bilateral hip ankylosis secondary to heterotopic ossification in a child with disseminated tuberculous meningitis and prolonged immobilisation

This case describes a paediatric patient with disseminated tuberculous meningitis (TBM) complicated by hydrocephalus, multiple neurosurgical procedures including ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt insertions and revisions, tracheostomy, prolonged ICU stay and extended immobilisation. The child initially presented with recurrent fever, altered sensorium and later developed right hip swelling.
