Vaccination is among the most effective and cost-effective essential healthcare services for preventing and controlling childhood infectious diseases. 1 Its impact on child survival is particularly notable in Africa compared with other regions, as the continent has historically borne a greater burden of infectious diseases.1 It is estimated that between 1974 and 2024, routine vaccination has prevented 49.6 million deaths and contributed 2.8 billion years of healthy life among children under five in the WHO African Region.1
