The Royal Navy (RN) afloat population is a subset of RN Service Personnel serving on seafaring vessels, often for extended periods with intermittent leave. RN afloat service women face barriers to participating in the national cervical screening programme, including prolonged periods at sea or overseas, the concentration of cervical screening registered practitioners at base ports, and challenges in communicating screening invitations to afloat service women.
