Following our first editorial as new joint Editors-in-Chief in last month’s issue, we are pleased to announce our next steps in achieving our vision for the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health (JECH). We argued that social epidemiology and population health research remain more necessary than ever in a world threatened by the climate emergency, unhealthy commodity industries and increasing health inequalities in many countries.
