Point-of-care diagnostics: regulators must raise the bar

Hillier and colleagues’ find that the UK urgently needs better regulatory oversight and clearer standards for direct-to-consumer diagnostic self-tests,1 which is concerning to us as general practitioner academics caring for patients and conducting research investigating novel point-of-care tests for infections.
