Evidence-based medicine (EBM) has developed rapidly since its introduction in a landmark 1992 JAMA paper.1 Professor Gordon Guyatt, a pioneering scholar in EBM and one of the most highly cited researchers globally, has also been instrumental in founding two major EBM systems: GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) and MAGIC (Making GRADE the Irresistible Choice) over the past decades.
