Sudan, a low-income country in Africa, faces a weak healthcare system and high malaria prevalence. The epidemiology of malaria is influenced by emerging resistance of parasites and vectors, humanitarian crises caused by political instability and climate changes, such as rainfall seasons, flooding and population movement. 1 2 Since April 2023, severe conflict has left 11 million individuals in urgent need of medical care, with over two-thirds of hospitals in affected regions non-functional. The remaining ones face imminent closure due to shortages of medical staff, supplies, water and electricity.3 From 2023 to June 2024, 1,621,164 malaria cases have been documented across 15 states.4
