For many of us, the start of a new calendar year is a time for reflection—of the things that we have to be grateful for and our goals and ambitions for the year ahead. In our first editorial of 2026, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you who have submitted work to JECH, browsed our pages and, importantly, provided peer reviews. Without your contributions, the journal would not exist.
