The use of complementary therapies in patients with cancer has increased notably in recent decades, particularly in the context of chemotherapy, one of the fundamental pillars of cancer treatment. Among these therapies, medicinal mushrooms have gained growing popularity, with species such as Lentinula edodes, Ganoderma lucidum, Cordyceps sinensis and Grifola frondosa standing out. The bioactive compounds of these mushrooms have been associated with potential immunomodulatory and antitumour effects.1
