A 55-year-old man developed progressive retrograde amnesia over several months. He had no headache, gait disturbance, fever, weight loss, night sweats or other constitutional symptoms. He was HIV negative and had been previously well. He was an agricultural worker and had not travelled recently outside his home region, which was endemic for paracoccidioidomycosis.
