An 11-year-old girl with asthma presented with 5 days of fever, shortness of breath and dry cough. Her symptoms had not been controlled at home despite inhalers and anti-pyretics. The respiratory examination was unremarkable aside from a left-sided middle zone wheeze. There were no focal neurological deficits or neurocutaneous stigmata on examination.
