We describe the case of a male patient in his mid-20s who had a history of blunt ocular trauma in 2012, following which he developed a total retinal detachment of the right eye. He subsequently underwent pars plana lensectomy, vitreoretinal surgery with 360° endolaser photocoagulation and silicone oil tamponade. Visual acuity in the right eye was limited to perception of light, while the left eye had normal visual acuity (6/6 with refraction). Intraocular pressure was elevated in the right eye (26 mm Hg) and normal in the left eye (14 mm Hg), for which topical timolol therapy was given.
