Introduction Spinal arteriovenous fistulas are recommended te be treated by microsurgery, because embolization carries a risk for incomplete occlusion or delayed recurrence. The authors report herein their preliminary experience using the Szepter MINI balloon assisted embolisation.Aim of Study To demonstrate safety and efficacy emerging technique of endovascular mini-balloon-assisted liquid embolisation of spinal dural AVFsMethod This is a retrospective cohort of eight consecutive patients ( 7 men; mean age, 58 years) underwent an endovascular treatment of a spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas Technical and clinical complications were systematically recorded.Results Complete spinal arteriovenous fistula occlusion on a follow-up angiography was observed in all patients if available. In all the cases liquid embolic progressed into venous drainage. No periprocedural ciplications were noted.Conclusion The mini balloon technique is feasible, for the embolization of dural spinal arteriovenous fistulas. Our results support the safety and effectiveness of this technique.Conflict of Interest No
