A 36-year-old woman presented with a 1-day history of left calf pain. She has a medical history of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and recently underwent rib fixation following a tobogganing accident in which she sustained multiple traumatic injuries. On examination today, her observations were BP 98/48 mm Hg, heart rate 139 beats per minute, SpO 2 98% on room air, T 36.8°C and her left leg was cold to touch, appeared swollen with weak peripheral pulses and had bluish discolouration ascending up the leg figure 1.
