Colin was born in 1936 and qualified at the London Hospital Medical College in 1961, where he met his wife, Marian. He later became consultant rheumatologist. He was an ideal colleague, showing a great willingness to share care. He was a particularly enthusiastic and loyal friend to the Haemophilia Centre, attending monthly polyclinics, recommending treatment for haemophilic arthropathy, and making surgical referrals when appropriate. He became clinical director for rheumatology at the London and was a staunch supporter of students.
