We appreciate the insightful commentary provided by Kuas et al 1 regarding our recently published study, ‘Comparison of the effects of vapocoolant spray and topical anaesthetic cream (lidocaine-prilocaine) on pain of intravenous cannulation: a randomised controlled trial’.2 We acknowledge the concerns raised and offer the following points for further discussion.
