A few highly valued individuals in the GP community actually understand how and why data are extracted from our clinical records, but many of the rest of us are hazy about the details. Currently, there’s a summary care record and a shared care record, and I’m sure that few of my colleagues (let alone patients) have a clear idea of who can access what kinds of information from other parts of the NHS.
