Voluntary registry-based analysis of risk factors for accidental dural puncture in epidural anesthesia

Accidental dural puncture (ADP) occurs in 0.19%–3.6% of epidurals, 1 often leading to postdural puncture headache with prolonged consequences.2–4 While several risk factors for ADP have been identified, comprehensive data on their interplay remain limited.1 We analyzed data from an anesthesia procedure registry system to systematically evaluate risk factors associated with ADP.
