We read with great interest the study by Sajdeya et al1 examining the association between cannabis use and acute postoperative pain outcomes in older adults. Authors are to be commended for addressing relevant clinical questions and for the innovative use of natural language processing (NLP) to ascertain exposure; however, methodological limitations may constrain interpretability and generalizability.
