The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has written to the maker of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist weight loss drug Wegovy (semaglutide), saying that its first direct to consumer TV advertisement for a new pill form is misleading and overstates the drug’s benefits.1
