We present a case of a man in his early 40s who reported a gradual, painless diminution of vision in his both eyes (mainly for near) over the past year. The uncorrected vision in the right eye was 6/12 and the left eye was 6/9, along with near vision of N-10 in both eyes. On slit-lamp examination after pupillary dilation, both eyes revealed central, green-coloured, branched lens opacities suggestive of double sutural cataracts, along with whitish, greyish opacities in the peripheral cortex, consistent with cerulean (blue dot) cataracts ( figures 1 and 2). This led to the incidental discovery of bilateral sutural and blue-dot cataracts. The posterior segment examination was normal in both eyes. After refraction, his best-corrected visual acuity improved to 6/6 in both eyes for distance and N-6 for near, and appropriate glasses were prescribed.
