We describe a case of a young man with metastatic cancer whose predominant symptom burden was pain caused by both recurrence of his primary sarcoma and the metastatic deposits in different bones of his skeleton. His case is noteworthy because it required a patient-centred multidisciplinary collaborative approach to adequately manage his pain in an opioid-sparing manner. We believe that this case in the context of Palliative Care exemplifies how a breadth of multi-specialty interventional involvement in the care of such patients can ensure high-quality pain relief in practice.
