While we already have an understanding of the trajectories of babies who undergo different surgical/interventional procedures for congenital heart disease (CHD),1 much less is known about the trajectory of fetuses prenatally diagnosed and live-born babies who never receive surgical intervention. The study ‘Population-based cohort study of incident cases of structural congenital heart diseases in England from fetal life through infancy’ makes a valuable contribution by filling a gap in the current knowledge.2
