UK endoscopy is a multidisciplinary specialty and is enriched by having colorectal surgeons performing colonoscopy. For many years, the Joint Advisory Group for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG) has recognised the challenges colorectal trainees have in achieving JAG certification. The survey[MR1] published in this month’s journal outlines these issues—it is a concerning read and we must redouble our efforts to resolve the issues.
