The very welcome Maternal Care Bundle (MCB), launched by National Health Service (NHS) England in February 2026, sets best practice standards across five areas of clinical care with a view to reducing maternal mortality and morbidity.1 It helps to bring the political focus, which in recent years has been more on the baby, back to the mother.
