Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. While prevention strategies such as tobacco control remain crucial, differences in survival outcomes between high-income countries suggest that access to effective treatment also plays a key role.1 These differences occur despite similar healthcare expenditure and universal coverage systems, indicating that structural, cultural and clinical factors influence lung cancer care delivery.
