Patients with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) utilize NHS services frequently. A key gap in care was identified in service accessibility. In 2022, a neuropsychiatry multidisciplinary team (MDT) was introduced, resulting in reduced service usage. This re-audit aims to assess the ongoing impact of the MDT on FND patients‘ care.Over a 6-month period (May–October 2023), 9 FND patients were discussed – compared to 41 in the same 2022 period. Of these, 7 (77.8%) were not accepted for further care and were instead referred to appropriate services (principally secondary care mental health services), while 2 (22.2%) had no documented outcome. 37% were not accepted in 2022. This re-audit continues to show that following discussion in the MDT, a reduction in service usage was observed (median 0 ED attendances in the year following discussion compared to 4 in the preceding 5 years of the re-audit).This re-audit shows continued learning within the MDT with fewer patients discussed and greater appropriate use of secondary care mental health services. A regional FND care coordinator was appointed in November 2023. This audit demonstrates that adopting a multidisciplinary, biopsychosocial model of care improves access to appropriate services, benefiting patient care and reducing unnecessary service usage.aditi.rane2@nhs.net
