A 70-year-old woman with no significant comorbidities presented to the emergency department with a 3-day history of asthenia, mild abdominal pain and melena. She reported recent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use for knee pain over the previous 10 days. On admission, she was haemodynamically stable and afebrile. Laboratory findings revealed anaemia (haemoglobin 90 g/L).
