Yogendra Bhakta Shrestha was a pioneering figure in modern paediatrics in Nepal. He completed his medical education in India and the UK, qualifying in general medicine and paediatrics and gaining a diploma in child health. He was fortunate to be able to work in all the major hospitals in London—particularly Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he learnt his paediatrics, and the Queen Square Institute of Neurology, where he picked up his neurology skills.
