A 15-year-old girl presented to a paediatric emergency department with a 4-week history of frank haemoptysis. This was occurring weekly, increasing in volume to an episode of approximately one-third of a cup of fresh blood (80–100 mL). She had no cough between haemoptysis episodes and the blood did not appear to be mixed with sputum.
