Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) are at increased risk of asthma, which contributes to respiratory morbidity and acute chest syndrome.1 However, data on asthma prevalence and screening strategies remain limited in tropical settings such as French Guiana, where SCD prevalence is high and environmental exposures are specific.2 This study aimed to estimate asthma prevalence in children with SCD and to assess the diagnostic performance of systematic screening tools implemented in routine care.
