Neonatal mortality remains a significant challenge in developing countries, particularly in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, which account for 39% of all neonatal deaths.1 Reducing mortality among premature and low-birth-weight infants is crucial for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3.2, which aims to end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years of age by 2030.2 Immediate kangaroo mother care (iKMC) is a promising solution to this problem.
